I study innovation and the lives that make new drug products possible. I am currently tracing the development and implementation of several drug products for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in global health. This work builds from my dissertation research in which I followed the development and implementation of Truvada for PrEP in the United States. Across this work, I maintain a fundamental interest in the relation between ethics and economics, especially as both drive metrics of value. Working closely with researchers, infectious disease doctors, and ‘high-risk’ groups, I think about value in relation to preventive medicine, sexual pleasure, and intimate desire.
